Voice Over...

Prologue

The world is a beautiful place. And I am beautiful. That isn’t arrogance or vanity. I am, inside and out, I love, I wonder and I explore. I’m not embarrassed about it. I lay claim to the ground we grace, I hear distant stars chime in the lightness and open my arms to awaken the skies. I see the fruits of nature flourish before my eyes and I know my place. I am not adrift or strayed from consciousness. I am present.

I’m not without my flaws either, everyone has them, but sometimes flaws can work to your advantage, I flutter and stagger but accept and conquer with every step. The essence of the soul is . I am a product of the beautiful world and I am beautiful. Should that ever end, I don’t know how I would take it. But it doesn’t need to end, that’s nature, it’s a feeling not a concept.

Epilogue

One of the people I loved, it was perhaps three years ago, was a sailor. To him it was sport, he would fly over the glassy water like a skaters blade, weaving through the wind and sun. He was beautiful. But he would never stop to look at the shore, or the sky. We didn’t last.

I’ve seen my friends wither in the struggle to ‘carve’ a life out for themselves. The pressure of an arbitrary world that insists we must make a permanent residence in it, rather than simply skim across its surface to enjoy its fleeting wonder. They fell into monogamy, “careers”, they suffered a death of sorts. And I never will. Nothing’s definitive. I’ve always had clarity.

I don’t think anyone ever really dies. How can we? If energy is eternal, and we’re all just energy, cosmic condensation on the window of reality, we can’t die, we can’t end. We go on. My immortality is in other people, like atoms colliding in space, the people we love change our courses to infinity. And I’ve loved so many people, and I will miss them. But now I’m ready to take my throne on the oceans wave to simply exist, forever. No tears of rain, only wings in the wind. I’ll take flight with serenity in my soul and go forth with bliss to fill.
